The process of clash detection can be described as spatial coordination between various elements within a project. Typically Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems are all taken into consideration when alleviating issues prior to install. The 3D models from each subcontractor are combined into a Federated model where analysis can be performed which indicates any intersections or collisions between elements. By performing this clash detection before install we are able to minimize the time and added cost created by the rework of coordination issues discovered in the field.
