New South Construction Company, an Atlanta-based general contracting firm, announces the completion of construction on two new senior living communities in Georgia. The Glen at Lake Oconee in Greensboro and Thrive at Frederica in St. Simons are the most recent facilities in New South Construction’s portfolio of senior living developments across the Southeast.
“We are thrilled to be part of these unique, resort-quality retirement facilities,” said Huntly Gordon, New South Construction’s president. “We’re proud to deliver modern luxury accommodations for future residents.”
The Glen at Lake Oconee, which held its grand opening on April 26, is a 127,000-square-foot, 118-unit development that accommodates those seeking independent living, assisted living and memory care. The facility is located in Reynolds Plantation, a luxury resort in the heart of nature on Lake Oconee, and has numerous amenities, including a salon, exercise rooms, full-service kitchen and elegant dining rooms.
“New South understands the drivers behind current senior living construction trends,” said Greg Almquist, CEO of Almquist Hansen, LLC. “On each of our communities, New South works with us as partners to create dynamic senior communities where living is easy for all levels of need.”
Thrive at Frederica is 92-bed facility consisting of 54,000 square feet of new construction and 26,000 square feet of renovations. The relaxing resort-style retirement project caters to those needing memory care and assisted living. Thrive features luxurious patient rooms, a beauty and barber salon, private dining room, recreational spaces and state-of-the-art call systems.
“We sincerely appreciate New South’s commitment to the project schedule and budget,” said Scott Hundley, managing partner of Thrive Development Partners. “They executed the designer’s vision perfectly, and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product.”
