New South constructed the U Centre on College, a 418-bed off-campus student housing community, in the heart of Clemson University’s campus in Clemson, South Carolina. U Centre on College is a five-story housing building wrapped around a six-level, mechanically ventilated precast parking deck. The 206,939-square-foot project consists of 127 student apartments offering one, two, three and four-bedroom units with bed-to-bath parity. Each unit features quartz kitchen counters, stainless-steel appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, and cable TV, and internet.

The amenity-rich complex includes approximately 7,198 square feet of double-height space for apartment accouterments, including a leasing office, fitness center, tanning salon, game room and “academic success center” stocked with iMacs and printers. Designed for community, the outdoor amenities consist of a dedicated public plaza, private courtyard with a conservation area, and a swimming pool and hot tub. Additionally, the project scope included the construction of four retail shell spaces.
