NSMS, A Joint Venture, comprised of New South Construction, McCarthy Building Companies, and Synergy Development Partners, was chosen as the 2024 recipient of the Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. Legacy Soar Award. The Maynard H. Jackson Awards are a tribute to Mayor Jackson’s unyielding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA) and throughout the City of Atlanta. It recognizes exemplary achievements and innovative practices in identifying, utilizing, mentoring, and/or growing such firms.
“Your team’s consistent efforts in collaborating with, mentoring, and encouraging diverse businesses on ATLNext projects truly reflects the essence of Mayor Jackson’s legacy,” said Stephanie V. Jones, senior project manager, business diversity for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
NSMS regularly partners with ATLNext and the City of Atlanta’s Office of Contract Compliance for project-related outreach events to achieve and exceed Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) program goals. Together, the NSMS team completed the iconic Central Passenger Terminal Complex Landside Modernization canopies that cover the north and south terminal roadways. The joint venture team is currently completing fire life safety upgrades to Concourse A and the AGTS / passenger tunnels at the plane train level as well as a gate addition to the end of Concourse E at H-JAIA.
