New South Construction Company, an Atlanta-based general contracting firm serving the Southeast, is delighted to announce the acquisition of Romeo Guest Associates, Inc., a commercial contracting firm established in 1893 based out of Durham serving the broader Research Triangle area and beyond. The deal, which closed February 28th, expands New South’s Southeastern reach and bolsters both firms’ capabilities and portfolios across various markets.
As a client-focused company dedicated to providing clients with excellent construction services, Romeo Guest specializes in new and renovation commercial construction services for a variety of markets. The acquisition adds 24 employees to the New South family and deepens its healthcare, higher education, and athletic portfolios.
“Romeo Guest and New South have complementary cultures, clients, and offerings, making this a natural fit,” said Huntly Gordon, president of New South Construction. “This acquisition is part of New South’s continued growth story, and a significant milestone as we celebrate our 32nd year in business. As we expand our geographical footprint, we will also enhance our current services and reach as well as provide better and broader access to our clients.”
Romeo Guest Associates will remain headquartered in the Research Triangle, under the existing management team led by James B. Robbins, II (Jim), president and CEO. Both firms will immediately combine resources and personnel. “We have a deep history in the Research Triangle and several institutional clients here,” said Robbins. “We remain bullish on the local economy and resources, and the Romeo Guest team will continue to be a strategic, invaluable resource to our long-time clients.”
