The New South Foundation hosted a sporting clay event on March 27th for a local Boy Scout Troop.
This was the first time many of these boys had ever been given the opportunity to shoot a firearm, and was the first time shooting sporting clays for nearly all of them. The event allowed the boys to earn a merit badge and focused on gun safety, proper shooting techniques, gun etiquette, cleaning and maintaining a fire arm, as well as an all around great time outdoors!
The troop held their traditional ceremonial Boy Scout procession prior to the start of the event and it was truly wonderful to have the opportunity to help provide a new experience to respectful, patriotic, young men. We appreciate and thank all of our volunteers that made the event a huge success!
