New South – Synergy, A Joint Venture marked a significant milestone as we joined forces with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATLNext), the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Associated General Contractors of Georgia in a signing ceremony for a strategic partnership for the Aviation Administration Complex Project. We are thrilled to embark on this journey, fostering teamwork and promoting a safe and stronger work environment for all involved.
This partnership emphasizes the commitment of all the stakeholders but most importantly strives to focus on the overall wellbeing of our workforce. Together, we aim to prevent injuries and limit abnormal safety events from occurring. This is accomplished by enhancing the overall focus of the worker through rewarding positive behavior, and ensuring the overall project environment is inviting and excellent for the trades to succeed. We look forward to achieving our goals, creating a secure workplace, and making a positive impact in the construction industry.
OSHA’s partnership with the New South-Synergy joint venture seeks to prevent worker injuries and reduce exposure to hazards using a contractor-government approach. The initiative will also assist contractors in creating and employing safety and health management systems, and delivering training to ensure employees, employers and supervisors understand how to remain safe and healthy. The Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute’s Safety, Health and Environmental Program is also supporting the partnership.
The project consists of a new administration building for the Department of Aviation to house all staff in one centralized facility. The new facility features conference space, meeting rooms, office space, a parking deck, and data center.
OSHA’s Strategic Partnership Program works with employers, employees, professional and trade associations, labor organizations and other stakeholders to establish specific goals, strategies and performance measures to improve worker safety and health.
