The Armed Forces Reserve Center is a three-story building with 220,000 sf of space on 35 acres located at the Lucius D. Clay National Guard Center in Marietta, Georgia. The facility serves as home base to the Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and Georgia State Department of Defense. The new building provides a multitude of services including a full-service kitchen, an 8,000 sf assembly hall, acoustically engineered band rehearsal rooms, joint operations control center, training classrooms, recruiting office, and approximately 130,000 sf of new office space. The building also includes the Joint Operations Center (JOC) for emergency situations and a 5,028 sf data center to serve the various levels of security requirements in the building, including SIPRnet and NIPRnet services.

The data center utilizes a state-of-the-art Commscope I-Patch 360 system, which monitors all copper and fiber ports, notifies users of irregularities, and tracks use on the system for security.

The building is constructed of a structural steel frame with CMU and metal stud exterior wall framing. The building veneer is a combination of brick, EIFS, and storefront. It has both single ply and standing seam roofing systems. The front entrance to the building is flanked by a 100-foot granite memorial wall honoring the National Guard. The new memorial includes a water feature, plaque pedestals, light posts, benches, and is comfortably shaded with the original oak trees left on the property during construction.

The project is LEED Silver certified.
