New South provided Pickens County with an addition and renovation constructed in two (2) phases. Phase one consisted of the renovation and expansion of the existing four-story historical building. Phase two consisted of the demolition of the existing annex building adjacent to the new building and the installation of a parking lot and fencing.
The exterior is composed of brick, metal panels, and marble. Steel windows are utilized on the historic part of the building to maintain historical standards.
The interior space houses courtrooms, office space for various judicial departments, and detention space in the basement. Interiors feature marble tile and exposed wood finishes as well as all new security and electronic systems. Phase one also included utilities and site work on the north, south, and west sides of the new addition.
