Nestled in the heart of Buckhead, the Cathedral of Christ the King campus has been a prominent figure in the skyline since the 1930s. In April 2018, New South embarked on the cathedral’s most ambitious expansion to-date with the construction of the new Hyland Center. After demolishing the existing Hyland Center, the project team began construction of its four-story, 55,000-square-foot replacement. The new Hyland Center now houses a regulation-sized gymnasium, eight state-of-the-art classrooms, two science labs, as well as an art room, music room, and multi-purpose meeting space. The exterior is covered with salvaged limestone from the old demoed building to maintain the look of the overall campus.
In addition to constructing the new Hyland Center, New South also completed renovations to the school’s existing cafeteria and media center. The New South project team went above and beyond to serve the parish and school, and worked as a partner throughout the construction process to ensure the safety of the surrounding community and the delivery of the project on time and under budget.
