The Our Lady of the Assumption School Outdoor STEM learning space transformed an underutilized area on the north end of campus into an engaging environment for hands-on education. Built with young learners in mind, the space brings science, technology, engineering, and mathematics outdoors, allowing students to explore concepts through play and experience. The new space features an outdoor classroom with amphitheater-style seating and a variety of interactive learning stations, including a physics and hydrodynamics lab with a gravity track for testing wheeled and water-powered vehicles as well as a structured engineering zone with life-sized “Lincoln Logs” for building, and a play kitchen with running water. The space also includes a kinetic balance area and was built to be accessible allowing play for all.
