The 4/5 Academy is a fourth and fifth grade school, which contains: 23 classrooms; a music room; science rooms; a media center; an administration area, with teacher work space; a multi-purpose room, with an auditorium and gymnasium; as well as a cafeteria and kitchen. Additional amenities include a basketball court and a large athletic field with patio space for outside dining or instruction. Project scope also included the demolition of the existing school building. 

This was the first new school built in the City of Decatur in 40 years, and was completed under design-build delivery method.
