The Georgia State Alpharetta Academic Classroom is a low-rise building similar in character to GSU’s existing adjacent building. The new 46,650 sf structure, comprised of a structural steel frame with a precast insulated panel and curtain wall system acting as the veneer of the building, provides additional academic space for GSU including a number of classrooms, instructional labs with offices, library space, and additional support space. The first floor houses academic offices for the faculty, a loading dock area, and large classroom spaces that are accessible for both public and university use. The second floor is comprised of mainly classrooms with a couple of breakout spaces and study lounges for the students. The project also includes provision for approximately 500 parking spaces.

Through our extensive preconstruction efforts and competitive bidding, the project realized a 15 percent savings in construction cost. As a result, GSU was able to utilize these funds to incorporate previously underfunded furnishings and technology components to provide a state-of-the-art facility for students.
