Jackson County Jail & Sheriff’s Office
The Jackson County Jail project includes new facilities for the developing Jackson County Government Complex, just north of Jefferson, Georgia. It includes a new jail with an attached administration building and dispatch center. The precast concrete jail housing building houses 450 beds and features two jail pod buildings containing 108 steel cells each. The pod buildings also include several outside air recreation yards within the building perimeter for security.
The jail support area includes: two segregation dayrooms; separate male, female and juvenile holding; booking; medical; kitchen; and laundry areas. Attached to the jail and jail support areas is the 16,000-square-foot administration area which houses the patrol division, jail records, and criminal investigation division. The dispatch center is 3,500 square feet, and holds the Sheriff’s Office and new facility for the county’s dispatch operations. The jail includes full security electronic operation of the jail, digital video visitation for public inmate visits, and a hearing room.
