This project consisted of a renovation and new construction to provide a 250-bed facility to house sexually violent predators. The renovation of the two existing dormitories created spaces for programs, laundry, storage, and resident admissions.

The new living unit, designed to meet current American Correctional Association Standards, is divided into five wings of varying sizes and classifications. Two wings are two-story structures with 100-square-foot cells. Three wings are single story with mezzanines and 81-square-foot cells. The living unit was designed with program and support spaces including: multi-purpose rooms, laundry, canteen, medical/pill call room, a barber shop, and offices for counseling and staff. Cells utilize prefabricated precast concrete units with triangular mechanical chases and preinstalled detention grade furniture and stainless steel plumbing fixtures. The existing buildings consist of load bearing precast concrete exterior walls with pre-engineered wood trusses.

The existing buildings were repurposed resulting in major interior demolition and construction. The eastern most building contains laundry, warehouse storage for bulk items, a maintenance shop, property storage, and resident admissions. The building immediately adjacent to the new housing building is for program spaces for residents and associated staff offices. The new building constructed on the west side of the site contains administrative offices, visitor, and staff lobby with screening area, resident visitor area, central control, staff muster and locker area, and armory.
