Dalton’s Academic Building was constructed to bring their science department into the 21st century and create competitive programs. It is a three-story, 58,000 sf building with two mechanical penthouses at the roof level and 20,000 sf dedicated to lab space. The building houses lecture classrooms, a full computer lab, tutoring rooms, faculty offices, and lab spaces for biology, chemistry, anatomy and research.
The building features large windows to allow natural light into the space as well as overlook the North Georgia mountains. The East building elevation features a monumental three-story curtain wall which serves as a focal point for the entire campus.
Included in the project was the first ever “rampitheater,” created for students to congregate between classes.
