Coca-Cola Headquarters Renovation
The Coca-Cola Company
Workplace 2020 is a multi-phase project renovating approximately 2,000,000 sf of internal space at The Coca-Cola Company’s world headquarters in Atlanta. New South has performed various renovation projects over the years at the campus, however; this is the first major campus-wide renovation in approximately 30 years.
The first phases 1A thru D focuses on the lower two floors of public space, conference rooms, and food service areas, creating a campus “urban mat” between the five (5) connected high-rise buildings. The second phases 2A thru G focuses on the upper associate work space floors. Various projects include extensive coordination and relocation of approximately 5,000 Coca-Cola personnel and requires minimal disruption to the associates during their daily operations.
The kitchen and food service facilities is the second largest in Georgia based on persons served per day. The conference facilities can accommodate up to approximately 1,000 people at capacity. This portion of the project includes demolition of a 600-seat auditorium, where we made considerable structural modifications to the lower levels of this 20-story building.
A unique architectural detail, includes one of the world’s largest dual water walls, as well as the largest dual flip dot wall. Other scope items typical to most of the phases are asbestos abatement and demolition, considerable security upgrades, and new MEP service and central plant installations associated with the new floor layouts and facilities.
The renovation of four exterior landscaped courtyard spaces total approximately five acres and makes way for associates to enjoy the flow between interior and outdoor spaces at the ground floor level.
