The Fayetteville City Hall and Park project included the construction of a 36,000-square-foot City Hall building and a nine-acre park to consolidate all workspaces employed by the city and to provide a focal point for the city’s growth plans. The most challenging aspect of this project was the poor conditions of the soil in-and-around the building and park. The brownfield property had several buildings that needed to be demolished, underground fuel tanks to be removed, and 60+ years of various paving and build up projects across the 12-acre site. The building had a total of 366 aggregate piers installed at all concrete foundations and in the slab area to mitigate the site’s soil issues.
