This extremely compact property consists of numerous issues involving unsuitable soils, underground utilities, adjacent existing sporting venues, and construction coordination to minimize costs and carefully review alternatives for providing acceptable solutions. The development includes removal of the existing indoor and outdoor tennis facility, the construction of 6 new outdoor competitions courts, 4 new outdoor practice courts, 6 new indoor competition and practice courts. Scope also includes outdoor seating for approximately 500 spectators, with indoor seating for roughly 250 people. The entry plaza provides access to the combined indoor office and team locker facility which includes coach’s offices, team meeting room, locker facilities, training room & restrooms. The building and associated site development layout has allowed the tennis complex to be maintained and developed on its current site as well as to allow students and faculty to utilize the new E/W pedestrian corridor located on the southern portion of the site, allowing access from the adjacent parking deck facility to the new Complex and Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
