The renovation of Russ Chandler Stadium was a Design-Build project that focused on the modification and reconfiguration of spaces used for baseball operations. This project included the revitalization of approximately 7,500 square feet of existing field-level “back of the house” spaces including new locker rooms, restrooms, whirlpool room, training and equipment rooms, and lounges for student athletes. Tech’s clubhouse includes a player’s lounge, a video room where players and coaches can break down game film, and a separate locker area for the coaching staff. A state-of-the-art athletic training room is adjacent to the Tech locker room in addition to a new 3,000-square-foot weight room and workout facility. The weight room facility is located below the existing plaza situated between the press box and concession buildings. The existing bleachers, fencing, and plaza systems were removed and a new cast-in-place concrete structure was installed to house the new weight room area.

There were new restrooms added to each dugout for the players and coaches proximity to the field during a game without having to go back into the locker room. All new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were provided, along with new finishes and graphics.
